Tom Genova

Board president, Downtown Somerville Alliance NJ 2013

"The final Downtown Somerville Alliance Strategic Plan has definitely exceeded my expectations. I have been referring to the Strategic Plan as the DSA Master Plan, as all of our goals, projects and work plans are laid out in a very professional and detailed document. This would not have been possible without all of the valuable resources of Main Street NJ. My sincere thanks to Donna for working with us over six months to complete the Strategi Plan and of course the Main Street New Jersey Program for funding Donna's work."

Patricia Blakely

Excutive Director The Merchants Fund 2011

"The Merchants Fund overhauled our grant making three years ago and it was time to reflect on our repurposed mission. Donna acted as the convener of our February 2011 Board meeting and led a rich discussion. She was excellent at making sure that everyone at the table had the opportunity to speak. We walked away with a better understanding of how our grant making hangs together as a unified work product. We have an intern from Drexel University this summer and we were able to articulate what we want to research and how to derive more information. If we need to refine our work then we will do it based on data and research. You know you have a great convener when the universal response is, “That was fun.”"

Stephanie Phillips

Assistant Director, Historic Bartram’s Garden, 2011

"I've worked with Donna for the past year on a comprehensive preservation plan for Bartram's Garden, and I can't imagine anyone else who could have tackled the issues of our complex site with such intelligence and integrity. Donna brings a wealth of knowledge about preservation best practices with an understanding of the challenges that accompany organizations with small staff and limited resources. She has helped us focus on the long-term through her superior organizational and facilitation skills, and also has a dry wit that is breath of fresh air. We would keep her around forever if we could.”
