Webinar Why Aren’t You asking for year end gifts 2018

Wisconsin Historical Society Local History Webinar series

The Wisconsin Historical Society has been providing Local History Webinars, a series of weekly free webinars for several years on a variety of history related topics and we are delighted that they have reached out to us to provide several topics in the coming months. All the Local History Webinars are FREE and open to anyone interested in local history and the tools needed to collect, preserve and share your stories.

On September 5, 2018 we will be presenting a 45-minute webinar on Why aren't You Asking for Year End Gifts?  Meant as an overview of yearend appeals, this webinar will help downtowns and other history organizations to plan to raise money during the weeks from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve.  Charity Network says that more than 30% of all charitable donations are made in December, and of that 10% happen the last three days of the year. It is free to participate, and we will have provided a calendar to use, several articles on yearend giving process, and list of email marketing subject lines to help you make the best of this intensive funding effort around the holidays,

  1. 10 Facts about Year End Gifts from 2017
  2. Outline of year end appeal letters, and other advice
  3. Subject lines for emails for year end appeals
  4. Procrastinator's Guide to Year End Appeals
  5. Calendar for 2018 for all Year End Appeal activities
  6. Get Ready to Ask for Year End Gifts for Your Historic Site.
  7. Power point presentation I slide per page

On April 10 and 24 next year I will be presenting on Best Practices in Board Service for Historic Sites for the Wisconsin Historical Society’s  Local History Webinar series.
