Year End Appeal Webinar September 5th

The Wisconsin Historical Society has been providing Local History Webinars, a series of weekly free webinars for several years on a variety of history-related topics and we are delighted that they have reached out to us to provide several topics in the coming months. All the Local History Webinars are FREE and open to anyone interested in local history and the tools needed to collect, preserve, and share your stories.

On September 5th, we will be presenting a 45-minute webinar on Why Aren't You Asking for Year-End Gifts? Meant as an overview of year-end appeals, this webinar will help downtowns and other history organizations to plan to raise money during the weeks from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. Charity Network says that more than 40% of all charitable donations are made in December, and of that 10% happen the last three days of the year. It is free to participate, and we will have provided a calendar to use, several articles on the year-end giving process, and list of email marketing subject lines to help you make the best of this intensive funding effort around the holidays.

Later in the fall, we will be presenting on Best Practices in Board Service for Historic Sites for the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Local History Webinar series. Look for more information in our next newsletter.
