Oregon Heritage Research Project

In preparation for their first ever statewide Heritage Summit, Oregon Heritage, the state agency that houses the Oregon SHPO, Oregon Main Street, and other heritage related services, sought fresh research about the wide variety of state, county, and local preservation funding and incentive programs across the county. Our research is meant to bolster the Summit’s fundraising theme and inspire the agency’s varied constituency including historic sites, preservation organizations, historic cemeteries, archeological sites, museums, and main street organizations across the state.  We were delighted to undertake this national research and produce a publication that will include profiles of two dozen outstanding preservation funding mechanisms and incentives from around the country to debut at the conference.  We expect to uncover and profile both tried and true funding sources as well as innovative incentives for preservation throughout the nation. We will be speaking about our research on April 26-27 in Newberg, OR. Here is the link to the Summit  page.   Please join us at the Heritage Summit.
