Hurricane Sandy impacts NJ Main Street towns

The Super Storm Hurricane Sandy knocked into the New Jersey coast last week and has devastated several shore communities with active Main Street efforts. Four Main Street towns, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Atlantic City and Jersey City all experienced severe flooding or other storm related damage to their commercial districts.

A fundraising effort has begun to help the affected towns.  Carola Hartley Executive Director of Bridgeton Main Street has started a fund to help, and is now accepting donations. One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to these main street offices to help them rebuild their downtown districts and help merchants.

I have already contributed and hope that others around the country would consider making a donation.  Please make checks payable to BMS Inc. NJ Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund and reference account 42-77125625.  Please mail to Bridgeton Main Street, 59 E. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.  If you have questions, please contact Bridgeton Main Street at 856-453-8130 or visit the website, www.getbridgeton.com. Thank you for considering this request
