Historic Preservation in Downtowns and Neighborhoods Jan 19 Panel

Here is a nice follow up from the DVRPC program from last week.

We are pleased to be moderating a panel for the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission this Wednesday January 19 with John Andrew Gallery Executive Director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and Ron Emrich Executive Director of Preservation New Jersey.

Both will discuss their individual efforts to develop statewide tax credit programs for homeowners and developers to encourage more rehabilitation of historic homes and investment properties in PA and NJ.  You can still sign up for this event, here is the brochure.  http://www.dvrpc.org/Announce/2011-01_HistoricPreservation.pdf

The event will start at the DVRPC offices at 6 and Race, and we will have a bus tour of Germantown, including visits to the Johnson House and Cliveden for the small admission price.

Followers of this blog will know that the recent effort by Ron Emrich and Preservation New Jersey to pass the NJ Historic Properties Revitalization Act has passed the General Assembly and the Senate and is now waiting for Gov. Christie’s signature.  Come out and learn about the trails and tribulations of passing this legislation in New Jersey and what you can do to help get the Governor to sign it.
