Camden County Heritage Tourism Plan Begins

In July 2017, the Camden County Historical Society received a grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust License Plate Program to begin work on the Camden County Heritage Tourism Plan. The first project is completing a survey of the 41 historic sites and history organizations that make up the Camden County History Alliance.  The main purpose of the survey is to identify a series of historic themes to link these historic sites and organizations together. The survey gathers a great deal of information about all the Camden County History Alliance Partners (CCHA), which will be useful for future advocacy, educational programming, and planning purposes. The survey was completed in early September with 90% of the organizations participating. The findings report is being written now and we will work with the Historical Society to identify thematic tour routes that would link together sites that have buildings open to the public.
